Personal Learning Networks
Personal & professional learning communities are so beneficial. One of my favorite personal learning communities comes from the "Hay House" publishing company. The many books & articles in this field have really expanded the way I think and feel about life. I truly love the ideas from this network of authors. I have learned that we can empower our lives simply by changing our thoughts.I can recall finding the "Hay House," community after one tough year in my life. I remember when I first read a book by the author, Louise Hay. Her words were so uplifting and inspiring. Louise taught that many of life's problems can be changed by focusing on positive affirmations and learning to love yourself unconditionally. I learned to shift my mindset into positive thinking and it made a huge difference in how I felt day-to-day.
As an educator, I have been very grateful to be part of different learning communities. My favorite learning community is my school community. I love getting together with educators in my school to problem solve, inspire, and learn. I have gained so much knowledge and wisdom from discussions with other teachers.
I am also grateful for the Utah Education Network. I have enrolled in about twenty different classes on UEN and each class has been so beneficial to me. I am starting to feel like I am part of this community. I've loved each class I've taken and have gained valuable information that has helped me become a better teacher today.
Finding the right learning community starts with a desire to learn & grow. I think its important to know what you're passionate about. I believe that passion is the fuel that can drive us to improving our personal and professional lives.
