EL ED BLOG #3

In class today we worked on creating our culture grams and pioneer tabs. I rather enjoyed the culture grams because I am passionate about Egypt. It was great to create a tab on the culture while learning a little more about the country. It makes me wonder that having variety in class assignments may give the student an extra emphasis to do it. If a child enjoys what they are doing then it doesn't feel as much like an assignment.

I am really beginning to understand the UEN website. In fact I find it rather simple. Most web programs and web sites are easy for me. The initial getting to know a program may be challenging but I feel I easily master what I put my mind up to make. I sat next to Shelli who is an older woman in the class. She isn't as up to date on how to work technology as me. While the lecture on how to create the Culture Gram was going Shelli was busily taking sincere notes. By the time the instructions was over I had already completed the assignment. I find that having a base of understanding of computers makes all other technology and programs easier to use.

  1. I agree that when possible it is more effective to give students some choice in their assignments to let them investigate content they are interested in. Thanks for helping Shelli!
