Vidcast Reflection

Vidcast reflection

The name of my vidcast is called, “How to be a healthy sixth grader.” I chose to do my vidcast on this because I feel that without health, education can become halted. I found the core curriculum at Utah Education website. The core addresses sixth grade health standard one and objectives one through four. It covers the important aspects of inner and outer emotions. It also reflects simple awareness of physical health.

I perceive that this will give the students basic understanding of how to be healthy. It also sets as a goal for my students to achieve. I have chosen to take the word health and break it into a subject from each letter. I used the words to cover specific topics of health at the beginning of the school year and followed it through till the end of the school year.

I used the following INTASC standard, by creating and maintaining a positive classroom environment that promotes student learning. A healthy happy student will promote a positive environment. My vidcast also follows supporting and engaging all students in learning. Students play equal parts in their health and the health of others.

This assignment also followed NETS by using digital technology to create a digital-age learning experience for the children. The playground environment and classical music together envelope a creative learning process. It also followed standard four which promotes citizenship and responsibility. The last focus of the video is on choosing to be happy and how to react in a positive way which promotes healthy citizenship.

I see only one drawback which is that some children find classical music boring and may not want to pay attention. The series will continue in varied disciplines to promote learning and class goals in future vidcasts.
